On The Road

Over Columbus Day weekend, the girls and Sara went on a trip to D.C. to see cousins Rachel and Anna, and then further south to meet Grandma and Grandpa Broadbent in Williamsburg. It was a very educational trip, and the highlights for the girls were the accademic activities of bowling and swimming in the kiddie pool. Sigh. Hopefully something of Jamestown, the Lincoln Memorial, the National Zoo, and historic colonial Williamsburg got through too. Ali still suggests that we say thank you for the kiddie pool in our family prayers. Here are a few highlights. I will spare you the agony of the dozens of blurry pictures the girls took of mole rats and spiders at the National Zoo. Thank goodness for digital cameras.

So we have (not necessarily in order):

Hannah at the Washington Monument
Feeding time for the octopus at the National Zoo
The fife and drum parade at Williamsburg
Ali in the maze at the governor's palace in Williamsburg
Megan dressed as a British soldier at Jamestown

Megan grinding corn as a native American
Hannah, Megan, and Ali in a dugout canoe
The girls at the Lincoln Memorial
Eternal good sports, cousins Rachel and Anna

Exhausted Ali
Rachel at her best
Megan relishing in her cousins' attention

That octopus is just yummy :) or really gross looking, whichever comes first. Classic picture of Megan with her tongue sticking out. Love it! And Hannah's got me beat. I wish I had a picture in front of the Washington Monument! I'm so uncultured...er..something.
