Merry Christmas
We had a wonderful Christmas. Grandma and Grandpa Broadbent and Uncle Dave and Auntie Catherine were here and the girls played VERY VERY hard while they were in town. To see pics and video of their visit see Dave's Website. There's a picture of one individual that made Allie cry, but to protect the innocent the name of the "offending party" will not be mentioned here. E-mail if you want details. There's video of opening presents, of the girls doing puppet shows, of Sara rolling around on the kitchen floor after the Scooba cleaned it, but unfortunately we did not end up with video of Sally's award-deserving performance as Ceasar Agustus. "Give me all your taxes!" She also played the role of Herod, and the lack of video footage of Sally as biblical government figures is a great loss for posterity. Allie performed wonderfully as Mary. After her donkey ride, she sat amazingly still in the stable by the manger, while Daddy/Joseph attended to her every need. The donkey Grandpa rested in the manger--either exhausted by the journey from Galilee to Bethlehem, or from his nasty cold. Sara appeared in full glory as the multitude of heavenly hosts. And shepherd Megan reverently paid her respects at the manger. She then dutifully whispered to the Inn Keeper (Auntie Catherine) and the Wise Man (Uncle Dave of course) that "the baby Jesus was born." Hannah watched the whole thing from the couch.
It was certainly a brilliant performance . . . unlike any other! (Click on the picture to see a larger image.)
